A Novel Trio.
Energy
Conservation. 1974.
From left to right: (1)
blue and orange omitted; (2) orange and green omitted; (3) green
omitted
Scott Nos. 1547a, 1547b, and 1547c
The similarity of color-omissions
makes this trio worth a second look. And it often takes two
or three looks to figure out which is which. To the untrained
eye, the one on the left, especially, looks as if it might be a normal
stamp.

2001
- A Space Oddity.
Pioneer - Jupiter. 1975.
Dark blue omitted
Scott
No. 1556b
The omission of intaglio dark blue results in an image so
startling and unusual that one can hardly pull their eyes from
it. Like something out of 2001 - A Space Odyssey.

This Error Can
Best be Described as Sea-Sick Green.
Haym Salomon. 1975.
Red omitted
Scott
No. 1561b
The overall greenish cast makes this error look as if it
were actually sick. Oddly, that's what makes it so appealing.
Just as the Pioneer - Jupiter excites the eye, this one almost nauseates
it. It's so ugly, it's actually beautiful -- error-wise.
