This is an unusual item. It's
hard to know whether to regard it as a color changeling (although
technically all faked color-omitted errors are changelings) or
a fake magenta-omitted error. It's a mint item. Paper
and gum are almost exactly the same as on a normal stamp. The
tip-off, though, is that it was presented as a one-of-a-kind
error. If so, what happened to the rest of the coil? The
answer is simple: there were never any others.
