Imperforate Terminology
IMPERFORATE TERMINOLOGY - AN ILLUSTRATED GUIDE

The omission of perforations between two normally perforated stamps is the fundamental element necessary to classify an item as an error.  Beyond that, imperforate errors are described by the appearance of the exterior sides.  The basic descriptive terminology is illustrated below.  Multiples are described accordingly.
Imperforate Between
Lacking perforations between stamps but possessing perforations on all exterior sides.
Imperforate
Lacking perforations between stamps and on all exterior sides.
Vertical Pair, Imperforate Horizontally
Lacking perforations between stamps and on top and botton exterior sides.
Horizontal Pair, Imperforate Vertically
Lacking perforations between stamps and on left and right exterior sides.
Other Configurations
Some items do not fit into the basic descriptive categories.  They can be described according to their appearance, such as "horzontal pair, imperforate, but possessing perforations on top and left sides."
